Sardines on Sydney's traffic islands

Walking around Central Stateion in the morning of lunchtime peak is afun if you like being a sardine and trying to figure out where you can stand without being squashed or run over.
This is the intersection outside Central Station, between George Street and Lee Street which leads to the University of Technology, TAFE, Chinatown, and all the surrounding businesses and hotels.

People are trying to find some space, some have resorted to waiting on the road.

The island is so full that people have to navigate around the crowd to try and find the footpath to get off the road.
