Sydney's famous Oxford Street Rainbow crossing in 2013 was a temporary fixture on Sydney's roads in 2013. City of Sydney Council fought hard to get it reinstated and eventually negotiated a rainbow crossing on the intersection of Bourke street and Campbell street including a precedent pedestrian priority traffic light (aka. Green light for pedestrians and bike riders until a motor vehicle triggers the detector to change the signals).

Walking around Central Stateion in the morning of lunchtime peak is afun if you like being a sardine and trying to figure out where you can stand without being squashed or run over. This is the intersection outside Central Station, between George Street and Lee Street which leads to the University of Technology, TAFE, Chinatown, and all the surrounding businesses and hotels. Green light to walk![]() Flashing red lightGreen right turn for trafficPeople are trying to find some space, some have resorted to waiting on the road. No space, have to go aroundThe island is so full that people have to navigate around the crowd to try and find the footpath to get off the road.
